I just found out on the Twitter that you can download the classic racing game “Death Rally” for free. It’s even Windows version so it runs smoothly on your computer.
Death Rally was made by a Finnish game development studio Remedy Entertainment and it was released way back in the 1996. It’s still really amazing and fun game so you should really check it out.
The another reason Death Rally was so cool at the time, was that it was made by the Finnish development studio. Back then there wasn’t any big Finnish game studios except Housemarque, so it was cool that Death Rally was so well received globally.
So anyway I was really excited about the game and the Remedy Entertainment back then and I was just starting to code myself and I remember I had a some kind of problem with blitting the pixels on the screen and I E-MAILED Remedy Entertainment asking for help and I was super surprised when they e-mailed me back telling what I was doing wrong, so it was really cool from them (I was about 13 years old at the time, so I thought e-mailing them about my coding problems would be a good idea).
At the time (or few years later) they were already designing Max Payne and they said that everybody would have 3d graphics cards when it was released… I was a bit skeptic because almost no-one at the time had 3d graphics card on their computers, but apparently they were right, so they had a good eye on the development of computer hardware back then.
But anyway, download the Death Rally right here, it’s really fun and amazing!
