Soundtrack Prototype 2009-12-01
Again, this is not really a video game -like song, but my song almost never are…
I like this song, because it’s dark and moody, but the melodies on the top of the noisy guitars sound really optimistic! Jing & Jang!
Ok so so as of now (2009-11-29) this game isn’t 100% complete, I’ll add a soundtrack to the game and probably some other small stuff, but I think the basic gameplay will go untouched unless I get some great ideas for improvement from everybody.

I uploaded this about 9 days ago, but back then there was a bug with tumblr that didn’t let me wrote any details to this so I’m doing it now.
I’m thinking about using this song for the game Ultimate Hammer Mania, but maybe remove the piano because it sounds so depressing and add a little more tempo…
Soundtrack Prototype 2009-11-13
I started doing a soundtrack for the upcoming game and it sounded pretty weird, but I couldn’t come up with a melody on top of it, so I wanted to share this unfinished song loop with all of you.
Ok so this song is not going to be in the game “Ultimate Hammer Mania” but I think this is a pretty good song, so I might use it on some other game.

Today’s screenshot has blood. I’m not 100% satisfied with how the blood looks on the ground at the moment (it should look more “rounded”).
The game has also most of the sound effects now, now just to write a soundtrack for the game, it should be pretty fun!

The game prototype for Mochi competition is progressing nicely. Can you guess what you can do with the big hammer?!
Anyway I’m quite happy that playing this somewhat early prototype is still quite fun, because lately all my prototypes have sucked in terms of fun. I hope the final game will be even more fun, but we’ll see it when this is ready.

Again I started doing a new game prototype, this time this prototype is propably for the MochiMedia 60 seconds game competition.
I quite like this prototype already even though there is not much game play elements implemented, this rarely happens with my prototypes.
Also if you see earlier game prototype screenshot you can see many reused elements, which I think is a great thing: Even tough I start doing new prototypes “too often” I can always reuse some of the existing code.

There hasn’t been a new prototype screenshot for a while so here you go!
I haven’t done much regarding flash games in the past few days, mostly because I just bought myself an iPod Touch and I’ve been playing games on it. iPhone/iPod Touch is pretty exciting gaming platform I must say and it’s pretty inspiring to play games on that machine, mostly because the touch-screen-thingy.
I think some flash game developers branch out to iPhone at some stage, but I don’t think I’ll make a game on it for a while. But I might some day…
For a long time I’ve been wondering how is the Mario’s jump implemented in the Mario games (at least in the old-school games).
If you don’t know: When you jump in a Mario game Mario jumps higher the longer you keep pressing the jump button down.
So anyway I started a discussion topic on Mochi media forums and it has got many responses already! I also added a test script & swf in which I tried to implement realistic looking “mario jump”.

There hasn’t much happening visually with the new platformer, mostly internal stuff… But I did added the first enemy to the game!
I also have one follower here on Tumblr. So now that I’m really popular I have extreme pressure to publish only good stuff, just like this amazing & beautiful screenshot!
The 7-day-game project is DEAD!
I discontinued developing the 7-day puzzle-game because of a GUT feeling the game wasn’t going to be fun.
But do not be sad, I’ve started a new game already, it’s a platformer! I probably won’t try to make it in seven days, but we’ll see what happens.
7 day game #1: Day 1 screenshot
I wanted to share this screenshot with you, I basically took most of the code from my yet-to-be-published game and started coding the new puzzle game around it.
The screenshot is the second iteration of the gameplay mechanics and I think it might change from that again. I started coding yeasterday night, so there is there more than six days to go!
This is my Assemblee art entry #2
The song started as the melody which you can hear on the background, to which I added the base line, which sounded good so I decided to made it the main thing of this song.
I might add a lead melody line for this song, but I thought some might like the song this way. I think it would be good for a menu tune, or for a puzzle game etc. slow paced.
This is my first entry to the TIGSource Presents: Assemblee Competition!.
It’s a bit heavy tune, but I hope somebody will find it useful and inspirational.
I will also use this on my own upcoming game for a menu tune.
I will upload the wav file of this song to the TIGSource forums, if somebody wants to use this song.
